Mapping Remote Systems as Network Drives :-
If you have a TCP/IP connection, and do a lot of FTPing from a specific site, why not add that site as a drive icon on your desktop? First, you must create a file called LMHOSTS in your Windows directory. Give it the following structure:

ip-address alias # the octothorpe starts a comment

e.g.: 198.105.232.1 MSFTP # Microsoft's FTP site

Next, right-click on My Computer and select Map Network Drive... Select a drive letter, and in the Path: text box, type the alias and a directory:

\\msftp\data

Select OK, and you're on. Note that this works best with Windows 95 and Windows NT FTP sites. It works more or less with other FTP servers. It works just as well over PPP as over a direct connection

Make an Open New Folder Context Entry :-
This is useful if you want to open a new folder so you can copy or move files around.
Open notepad and copy this into it exactly as shown.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\opennew]
="Open New &Window"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\opennew\command]
="explorer %1"

Now save the document as Open New Folder.reg. You can call it anything you want, just be sure to put the .reg extension after it. Save it on the desktop so you can find it quickly. Now double click on the new icon. The registry hack will update automatically. Now right click on a folder and you will see a new option called 'Open New Window'.

Change the Recycle Bin's Name :-
Launch the Registry Editor by selecting Run from the Start menu. Type REGEDIT in the Run dialog and click on the OK button. Go to the following path: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} and change Default value from Recycle Bin to the name of your choice.

Startup folder will not automatically start. This is useful when you are

automatic program startups.

3/ With several applications open in windows on your desktop, Alt-Esc brings
up the next application, and Alt-Shift-Esc brings up the previous one.
(Note that this won't work with minimized windows). If you only have a few
applications active, this can be faster than using Alt-Tab.

4/You can open the Start menu by pressing Ctrl-Esc;
Ctrl-Shift-Esc will open Task Manager.

5/ Print Scrn will put a snapshot of the entire screen into the Clipboard;
"Alt-Print Scrn" will save only the active window. After capturing the
snapshot, open Paint (or your favorite graphics editing program) and Paste
the snapshot into a new file. Use "File/Save as" to save the image. This
tool can be invaluable when communicating a problem to Tech Support, as it
shows us the exact error message displayed.
